The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. CPS 2.0 is now the recommended customer programming software for Motorola MOTOTRBO two way radios. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate just purchase it.įor M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. It seems to work but is considerably different than any other radio programming software Ive used.
I located and installed Mototrbo CPS V16 build 828, with the wide band (25/20 KHz) and full Canadian frequency hack. All radios must be powered ON and within range of the new DTR for programming to be successful. Before doing so I want to be sure I can even program Motorola radios, otherwise theyll just be expensive paper weights.
Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity. After the new radio is programmed using Motorola’s DTR CPS software and programming cable, begin by inserting the battery and connecting the antenna. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.
After installing this same version on the new laptop, I was unable to get the software to read my radio's programming, and I get the following error: 'ERROR 4-1379, Invalid Region Code for this CPS version. To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
I recently purchased a new laptop, running Windows XP, the same version of windows I have already used the software with.
I have been using Motorola's Professional Radio CPS, revision 06.10.04 for quite some time now to program my volunteer fire department's portable and mobile radios. You just need to do it in the right place. We are not against discussion of this issue.
